Athletics is a big part of Trinity Christian School!

TCS provides our students with many opportunities to participate in sports starting in kindergarten.  Organized sports not only provide our students with excercise but also helps them become Community-builders - how to work together for a common goal. The current sports TCS students can participate in are:

  • Junior High Competitive Sports (volleyball, basketball, badminton, track & field)
  • Intramurals (Grades 4 through 9) include volleyball, handball, basketball, floor hockey, soccer.
  • Junior High Options include Golf clinics and Triathlon
  • Ski Day (Grade 7 through 9)
  • Hockey (Kindergarten to Grade 6) - this is not a TCS program, it is run by parent volunteers.
  • 3 on 3 Basketball (Grades 5 and 6)

TCS focus on athletics in the early years has contributed to our success in junior high competitive sports.  So much so, that did you know we have over 110 banners since 2000?

Athletics Philosophy

The athletic program at Trinity Christian School is a development continuum, beginning with — for many — the students’ first introduction to competitive school athletics in Junior Athletics and preparing them for the highly skilled and competitive level of High School Athletics.

At the Junior level (Grades 7 & 8), when belonging is important and skill levels are low, we are committed to allowing as many students play as possible, where students are able to play multiple sports and discover the sports that they may grow to love. The emphasis at this level is on participation, developing skills, and building confidence. Those students who have not been involved in a community athletic program will learn what it means to be part of a team and will see how, with effort and guidance, their skills begin to improve. They learn to win and lose as a team.

By Senior level (Grades 8 & 9), as students mature physically and psychologically, the level of competition will begin to increase. Skill development remains a focus, building the skills that student athletes will require to successfully compete at the high school level. Team strategy becomes more complex. There will probably not be a place on the team for every young athlete who wants to play at the Senior level. Those with a higher level of skill development will begin to represent the school in a more competitive environment.

At all levels of play however, the purpose of the athletics program at Trinity Christian School remains the same. We want to use the gifts that God has given us to bring praise and glory to him. We want each student involved in the program to reach a level of success, to feel good about his/her role on the team and have fun doing it. Christian character and leadership is the primary focus of the program at all times.
