Celebrating the Olympics
Our grades 1 to 4 are celebrating the olympics during gym. GO CANADA GO!
They began the week with opening ceremonies followed by learning about and playing an adaptation of some of the winter sports. The sports they have competed in so far are:
- hockey, of course
- speed skating - using paper plates to help them slide
- biathlon - performing cross country skiing in their socks and tossing bean bags at a target
- skeleton - an important sport in TCS history (see below)
TCS FUN FACT: Did you know we have two alumni that have competed at the Olympics? They are Elisabeth Vethje who competed in skeleton and Rudy Verhoeff who competed in volleyball.
