A Charlie Brown Christmas

Yesterday our elementary grades put on their annual Christmas Concert, "A Charlie Brown Christmas".  It was a fabulous production of singing, dancing, story telling and, learning the true meaning of Christmas.

"Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?", yells Charlie Brown.  Linus responds and recites the Christmas Story of the birth of Jesus from Luke 2: 8-14:

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this (shall be) a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men.

"That's what Christmas is about, Charlie Brown.", replies Linus.

The program opened with our Kindergarteners singing followed by "A Journey Through Bethlehem" by our Grade 1.  Our Grade 2 through 5 choir sang beautifully providing musical interludes during the play.  This year was extra special as we enjoyed live music performed by many of our grade 6 students and our own live band.  The selection of instruments donated by Shine FM made it possible.

Thank you to so many for helping to make this happen - staff, students and parents. It was a very large production again this year, with so many moving parts, and in the end the hard work showed and it was an amazing production.
