GNE Day 5

Another exciting and eventful day! We started our day with a hearty breakfast of waffles, hash browns and bacon, with the Green Bay staff circling around us to pray us off for our journey home. Wow! What a blessing the staff were. Each meal and throughout the day the staff would nestle in with our students for meaningful connection and conversation. We felt deeply cared for. Chanting and singing to Christen our voyage, we pulled away with full hearts and full bellies. Not soon after we noticed a minor mechanical issue before leaving Green Bay. With a 3 hour delay while waiting for parts and service we grabbed some Tim Hortons and a refreshing splash at the water park. Then back en route to Revelstoke were we road the Pipe Mountain Coaster.  This entailed a breathtaking Gondola ride to the top of Revelstoke mountain and a speedy wild ride down on the Pipe Coaster. We had a few students refusing to go but we’re enticed by the spectacular ride up. Once they saw the view and the ride down we couldn’t help but say, yes! Smiling faces and lots of laughs got us through the day. Not bad for “just the ride home” day. All in all, a fantastic week of pushing through fear, making new connections and watching God orchestrate each detail to perfection. Today we are grateful for friends, working busses with AC and the excitement of our own beds. Thanks for day comrades!
