Green Bay 2025 - Day 4

Thursday

Day Four: Sunshine, Sports, and Spirit-Led Moments

Thursday marked the fourth day of our Grade Nine Experience Trip, and it was a perfect day to relax, play, and soak in the sunshine. With warm temperatures and bright skies, the atmosphere was light, joyful, and full of connection.

The day began with a delicious breakfast before students jumped into a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the gym. The energy carried over to the sand as the next round of fun unfolded with a beach volleyball game on the lakeside court. At the same time, other students participated in a variety of field games like Netball and Frisbee Smash, while some gathered on the sidelines to cheer and support their friends. It was a beautiful picture of community and camaraderie, a reflection of how much these students have grown together—encouraging, laughing, and making memories as a group.

Once the Tuck Shop opened, students grabbed some treats and headed to the beach for an extended afternoon of fun in the sun. They played on “The Blob”, rode tubes behind the boat, and set out on giant paddle boards that carried groups of friends gliding over the water. The lake was alive with joy, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.

Lunch was a camp favourite—spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread—giving everyone a hearty refuel before heading back out to enjoy the water. It was clear: this day was made for play, rest, and friendship.

By 4:00 pm, students boarded the buses for a short trip to Orchard Park Mall. Each student was given $20 to explore the food court and enjoy a meal of their choice—an exciting outing and a chance to unwind before the final night of the trip.

Upon returning to camp, it was time for a quick “Tuck and Tidy”—cleaning and organizing their cabins in preparation for tomorrow’s departure. Then, at 9:00 pm, the group gathered one last time for fireside chapel.

Worship was led by Daton, who invited the Spirit into the space through heartfelt songs. In a powerful and unexpected moment, Noella stood up to share words she felt God had placed on her heart. With remarkable courage, she reminded her classmates that everything in this world will pass away, but God remains forever. Her message was sincere, bold, and deeply moving.

Pastor Tim followed with a heartfelt message of love, affirming to each student that they are deeply loved by their parents, their teachers, their friends, and most of all, by God Himself. He reminded them that Jesus invites each one of them to live the life they were created for, a life of purpose and love. Mrs. Reimer also shared, her voice filled with emotion as she expressed her deep affection for the students. There were not many dry eyes around the fire.

The evening ended on a joyful note with a Glow Stick Night Game, where students ran, laughed, and glowed under the stars. And what better way to wrap up the night than with McDonald’s cheeseburgers for a late-night snack?

As the final full day came to a close, we were reminded once again of the special bond this group shares, a bond built through years of learning, growing, and now, celebrating. These students are a blessing, and we are confident they will go on to be a blessing to the world.

Green Bay 2025 - Day 3

Wednesday

Day Three: Soaring High and Staying Grounded in God’s Goodness

Day three of our Grade Nine Experience began with another breathtaking sunrise over the still waters of Okanagan Lake—a peaceful start to a day packed with adventure, laughter, and spiritual depth. As the students eased into the morning, staff gathered early for prayer and planning, ready to guide the day with intention and care.

After a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, students kicked off the day with beach time fun, and the star attraction was once again “The Blob.” This giant inflatable was the scene of non-stop action as students launched, bounced, and tried to knock each other off. The joy and playful competition made it clear this was one of the camp favourites.

By late morning, the group boarded the bus and headed to ZipZone, an adrenaline-pumping zip line experience that crosses a stunning canyon six times. With encouragement and cheers from one another, students rose to the challenge, taking in breathtaking views and memories they won’t soon forget.

Next stop was Hardy Falls, where students enjoyed a scenic walk over a series of bridges spanning a gentle, winding stream. With snacks in hand, they explored the beauty of God’s creation. Back at the bus, the fun continued with an impromptu panther art challenge—students crafted creative panther designs using natural materials from around them. The results were impressive and showcased just how creative and gifted these young people are. (Be sure to check out the gallery!)

After enjoying popsicles in the sunshine, it was back to camp for a satisfying dinner of chicken and waffle fries—another hit, thanks to Green Bay’s talented kitchen team. As the evening rolled in, students made the most of the 25-degree sunshine with more beach time, wake surfing, and playing with water toys.

At 7:30, the fun took a hilarious turn with the Y game “Coke Runners.” Two brave volunteers, Mr. Dyshoorn and Mrs. Kamphuis, were wrapped in toilet paper while teams raced to the other zone to douse them with water until the paper melted away. It was wild, wet, and wonderful. No one stayed dry for long!

At 9:00 pm, the day came to a meaningful close around the campfire chapel. Mr. Graffunder, Greyson, and Micah led the group in powerful worship, and Mrs. McPherson shared a heartfelt message about the life of Jesus and how it brings true meaning. She challenged students to live lives rooted in purpose by putting God first. It was a reflective, Spirit-filled moment under the stars.

To cap off the evening, students joined in a friendly basketball game with local Covenant students. Whether on the court or cheering from the sidelines, the sense of community and shared joy was unmistakable.

This was a day of high adventure and heartfelt reflection—a day full of sunshine, connection, and reminders of God’s incredible goodness.

Day Two at Green Bay: Sun, Laughter, and Spirit-Filled Moments

Our second day at Green Bay Bible Camp began with a breathtaking sunrise—an early reminder of God’s beauty and faithfulness. With sleepy eyes but excited hearts, students gathered for breakfast before heading off for an action-packed morning at Scandia Amusement Park.

From the adrenaline rush of Go-Kart racing to the friendly competition of mini golf and the energy of arcade games, students made lasting memories alongside their friends. The joyful laughter and playful banter were a perfect way to kick off the day.

Back at camp, students were welcomed with a taco lunch that hit the spot after a morning of fun. The afternoon brought on even more adventure with Bazooka Ball in the park—an exhilarating game where soft, golf-ball-sized projectiles are fired from air-powered blasters—and Laser Tag in the gym, transformed by fog machines and a dazzling laser light show. The room buzzed with energy and friendly competition.

The sun continued to shine as we entered the highlight of the day: three glorious hours of beach time on Okanagan Lake. Students swam, sunbathed, and tackled inflatable water obstacles like the blob and the giant slide. Others tried their hand at wake surfing and tubing behind the boat—cheered on by friends from the shore. God truly blessed us with perfect weather and joyful moments on the water.

Between beach adventures, students also had time to visit the Tuck Shop for snacks and treats. Later, a delicious dinner of butter chicken and warm naan bread proved to be a crowd favorite—comfort food with a flavorful kick!

The evening kicked off with the Green Bay classic, Garage Sale, a delightfully bizarre wide game where students raced to dress up in wild clothing while avoiding being tagged. Laughter echoed across the field as teams scrambled to collect the most outrageous outfits.

As night settled in, we gathered once more for a fireside chapel. Tonight’s message centered on the power of Jesus, His immense love, and the truth that God longs to walk with each student through life. The atmosphere was reverent and holy. As the invitation was given, students were moved to pray—some with staff, others with friends. It was a powerful, Spirit-led moment of connection, healing, and truth.

Today was a perfect blend of fun in the sun and deep spiritual connection. God is moving in the hearts of these students—and we’re so grateful to witness it.

Grade Nine Experience Begins: A Journey of Celebration and Transition

Today marked the exciting beginning of the Grade Nine Experience Trip for Trinity Christian School students—a special culminating adventure designed to celebrate their junior high years and help them transition into the next chapter of life.

The journey began early in the day as students boarded buses in Calgary and set out for Green Bay Bible Camp in beautiful Kelowna, B.C. Spirits were high as the buses wound their way through the Rocky Mountains, making two memorable stops along the way. The first was in Golden, where students grabbed lunch from their fast food spot of choice, laughing and chatting with friends as they took in the fresh mountain air. Later, the group made a sweet stop at D Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous, a much-loved treat on this annual trip.

Upon arrival at Green Bay, students were greeted with a joyful welcome—camp staff waving flags and cheering as the buses pulled in, setting the tone for what promises to be a meaningful and fun-filled week. After settling in, students were treated to a hearty dinner of roasted chicken, potatoes, and fresh salad.

The evening brought opportunities for recreation and connection. Many took to the beach, swam in the sparkling Okanagan Lake, and challenged themselves on the floating water toys. Laughter echoed across the shoreline as the students embraced the camp experience.

As the sun set, the group gathered for a powerful time of praise and worship. The message for the evening reminded students that while Satan’s schemes may appear attractive, they are ultimately empty—only God brings true fullness and purpose to life. It was a spirit-filled time of reflection and encouragement.

The day ended with an exhilarating night game where students teamed up to rescue a captive while dodging the foam noodle-wielding enemy. It was a perfect blend of teamwork, laughter, and excitement.

From the rolling highways to lakeside worship, today was filled with meaningful moments, fun, and faith—a beautiful beginning to a week these students will remember for years to come.
